Team Alpha at Weymouth Beach Volleyball Competition

“Team Alpha” hits the beach to take place in a charity event as part of the annual Weymouth Beach Volleyball Classic in July 2011.

In preparation for a new Alpha Course starting in September 11 at The Clipper in Weymouth town centre, the team were out in force to take place in the beach volleyball competition against other local businesses in Weymouth & Portland.

The Church in Weymouth and Portland

Throughout the New Testament the fathers of Christianity always spoke of "the church in ...". Many of the books of the New Testament are letters written to the church in a location: to the church at Corinth, to the saints in Ephesus, to the saints at Phillipi, Corinth, to the church of the Thessalonians.

So that is what this website is, it is the virtual presence of the church in Weymouth and Portland, representing the saints at Weymouth and Portland. We are many congregations but we believe that:

There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to one hope when you were called— one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. (Ephesians 1:4-6)

Joining the "home" Olympics team

Rev. Anni Douglas Hi, I am Anni Douglas, and as the newly appointed Olympics co-ordinator for the churches, I look forward to meeting many of you over the next few months as we plan for our response to all those thousands of people who will be in Weymouth for the Olympics in nearly 2 years time. We really want to get the message of God's love in Jesus out into the streets in all we plan for and do!
